(More customer reviews)I replaced a valve bank of Toro valves because I trenched my yard when I put the sewer in and it destroyed my sprinkler system.
I had bought a few of the Orbit sprinkler heads and they worked well so I figured I'd give their system a shot.Assembly was pretty easy, just make sure you wrap the caps for the unused valve inputs 7-8 times in teflon or they leak.I'm not sure if this is a common practice but it did finally do the trick.
Long story short, they seem to work ok, but two of them leak, one around the flow control and another at the actual gasket of the valve body.Needless to say those two are going back to Home Depot, I need to get another valve and 2-port manifold anyway to go from 4 to 5 circuits.The whole system is pretty slick, and can be put together quick, I just wish the valves didn't drip.Good thing it's all modular and you can pull it apart easily.
This is kind of troubling though, wouldn't they test these under pressure before shipping them out, or did they just sit so long at Home Depot the gaskets went bad (i doubt it).Whatever the reason the last thing I want to see is a steady drip of water coming from the body of a brand new valve.How are they gonna make it 6 years (warranty length) if they leak at installation?Guess I'll hang on to the receipt in case I have to go back to Toro valves next spring...
