Egyptian Cotton Deep Pocket Twin Sheet Set (4 Pieces) - Tan Color Twin Sheet Set - 400 Thread Count Review

Egyptian Cotton Deep Pocket Twin Sheet Set - Tan Color Twin Sheet Set - 400 Thread Count
Average Reviews:

I was happy to finally find a four piece twin set because I needed a set that came with two pillow cases as well as the flat and mattress sheets. When they arrived however I was surprised to find that they only included "three pieces" at first I thought that I was just missing one case but when I read the packaging it clearly states three pieces the two sheets and one pillow case. Needless to say I am sending them back for a refund.

I got these on sale, and am glad I did. Soft, interesting color. I think Wamsutta is overpriced, however. I probably would not buy their sheets full price, even at amazon savings.

I don't use bed skirt often, but this one is great. When I pull it out of the dryer after first wash, it feels so soft and it looks so beautiful!

Fabric Definitions
Egyptian Cotton: Egyptian cotton is used to make some of the highest quality linens in the world, including sumptuously soft bath and bed linens. Egyptian cotton is grown to produce a longer staple, or fiber, than generic cotton, and the longer and finer a cotton staple is, the better able it is to be spun into finer count yarns, which in turn can be knitted or woven into soft, fine, and luxurious fabrics. The staple length in Egyptian cotton averages 1-1/8 to 1-1/2 inches, but can reach over 2-1/4 inches, which is twice the size of a generic cotton fiber. Products which highlight construction of Egyptian cotton are usually referring to the extra-long-staple cotton produced largely in the Nile River Valley. The humidity and rich soil around the Nile delta produce especially long cotton fibers, which are fine and vary from a light cream to dark tan color. Egyptian cotton is strong, durable and, if cared for properly, will be long lasting.
Sateen: Sateen fabric has a supremely soft, satin-like finish resulting from a four-over-one thread weave. Standard weaves, like percale, use a one-over, one-under stitch. The four-over weave puts more threads nearer the surface, resulting in a softer, warmer surface. Sateen fabrics are most often made of mercerized cotton, but can be made of other fabrics, including cotton blends, polyester, and rayon. Mercerized threads give sateen fabrics a higher luster. Mercerization, named for process-creator John Mercer, involves treating threads with a cold concentrated sodium hydroxide solution. Mercerization also increases strength, dyeability, and resistance to mildew, as well as reduces lint. Sateens can be produced in light and heavy weights, and are ideal for bedding.

Pinzon 440-Thread-Count Damask Stripe Sheet Set Review

Pinzon 440-Thread-Count Damask Stripe Sheet Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The first thing I love about these sheets is the rich color. The online images do not do it justice. Then I was pleasantly surprised how deep these sheets were. I have a memory foam mattress pad on top of my regular mattress and all past sheets would barely cover both let alone stay in place. I am very happy to say that these not only more than cover the entire set, but stay in place without riding up, even after several washings. The rich colors combined with the stripes added a smart clean warm look to the room. I would highly recommend these.

Pinzon 400-Thread-Count Egyptian Cotton Pleated Hem Sheet Set Review

Pinzon 400-Thread-Count Egyptian Cotton Pleated Hem Sheet Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I love the look of these sheets. They're simple and uncluttered but they're beautifully enhanced by the pleated hem detail on the top sheet and the pillowcases which gives them the appearance of a far more expensive set. The pleated hem on the top sheet presents a neat, finished edge when folded down over a blanket or coverlet, a very nice design touch. They're generously sized too so they easily fit deep mattresses and there's no pulling and tugging a skimpy top sheet which I've found myself doing too often with other sheets supposedly sized for Queen sized beds.

The Egyptian cotton is wonderfully soft and smooth with none of the scratchiness often associated with cotton and helps make for a comfortable night's sleep. And washing only improves them and makes them softer. Wrinkles, another bane of cotton, aren't a problem either. They came out of the dryer with barely a crease and what few there were, smoothed out once they were on the bed.

The quality, workmanship and appearance of this sheet set are all excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
