It's super-snuggly but lightweight so it will make a great year-round comforter for us. It's well-made and just a great value.

However- I'm a happy customer (and warm) and don't think I'll be needing another duvet for a while (could have come with a slip cover but never mind..)

(More customer reviews)When I recieved the comforter the tag that has the material content was cut mostly off except for the part that says by law it is not to be removed except by the consumer and that the fill is a "minimum 75% down". I contacted the seller and got this response:
"We buy some of these in a lots at auctions from overseas vendors that manufacture these sets for specific merchants. For whatever reason when these merchants decides not to take the order (financial, etc), they sell them in lots to folks like us at discount price. Because they were originally created for a specific merchant they may have some advertising on the tag specific to the merchant which was probably taken off. Because we buy in lots, we are able to sell them at so low prices compared to outside. However, the important thing will still be intact on the tag (which is basically about the filling. That is why we are able to sell them for low costs to our customers compared to retail stores where the same thing will be 2 to 3 times more.

Nevertheless, the down comforter itself is absolutely gorgeous and will keep you warm. Yes, the min down is 75% because by law it has to be written that way. However, if you look and feel the comforter, it is very nice and wroth the $.

If you are still not satisfied, I am willing to issue you full refund and send you a prepaid label to receive the comforter back. I hope you can appreciate that as a seller I am doing everything possible to make this a satisfactory experience for you.

I do want a positive feedback (4 star and up) from you. So, please let me know if there is anything else I can do & I will work with you to your satisfaction.

I am not sure what to think because they claim the product was made in Italy but how do they know if the tags are missing? Also, how do they know that it is 100% down or 800TC without the tag and they are essentialy buying them second hand? Also I have 400 thread count sheets that feel smoother than this comforter that is supposed to be 800 thread count. Also the duvet that I ordered from this same company is 600 TC and feels smoother. Of course there is no way to know what the TC realy is if it is indeed less than the stated 800 TC that they advertised and there is no way to know if it is truly 100% down with the tag missing. I will keep this item as the price was low and it does seem to be of decent quality and I think it should last a long time. However, I will not purchase from this company again as the whole thing sounds very shady and there is no disclosure before you buy that they are second hand. I would return the item if it were not such a hastle. If there are any further issues I will report them here.

(More customer reviews)First of all, buyers should know that this comforter is actually packaged as the Charter Club Appalachian II.Charter Club is a high quality (if not quite top-of-the-line) store brand from Macy's, and the Appalachian II is one of their discontinued items (it's not clear why).Though Amazon does not mention it, the packaging describes the comforter as "light weight," with the further description as follows: "Ideal for summertime, warm climates, and those who prefer light coverage at night."

Upon seeing that, I was disappointed, and annoyed that Amazon's listing didn't provide this information.But before sending it back, I decided to give it a try, and after using it for a couple of weeks, I have to admit that I'm impressed with the warmth it generates.I sleep in an unheated converted third floor bedroom in Portland, OR, where winter temperatures have been dipping into the upper 20s, but paired with flannel sheets and a mid-weight blanket, this comforter has been more than warm enough.I don't think I've turned the space heater on since I bought it.It's likely not warm enough for Vermont or Minnesota, but it's fine for winter in Portland, and anything warmer would be too much for most of the year.The construction also seems to be of good quality, and although Amazon doesn't mention it, the package says it is machine washable (in a commercial machine) and filled with hypo-allergenic EcoDown (standard on qood quality comforters, but not universal).

All in all, it really seems like a very good comforter, and at the price I paid ($59 on Amazon), it is an absolute steal.I looked around quite a bit, and couldn't find anything remotely comparable for less than twice the price.Four stars for quality and warmth, and a fifth for value.

(More customer reviews)Just received mine today.The tag on the comforter states minimum 75% down.That leaves 25% FEATHERS.What a disappointment to discover this after reading the product description carefully BEFORE I made my purchase.

If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. This comforter proves the rule.

FEATHER/down combination comforters do NOT maintain their loft--they tend to flatten out after minimal use.They also do not have the same luxury feel as 100% down.

Feathers in the comforters make noise.I tried one of the feather and down combination comforters on our bed and my husband who NEVER notices anything asked why the comforter was making noise!Down is silent when you roll over or adjust the covers.

The outer covering on this comforter is nice at 410 thread count.

This is just another warm blanket, not a luxury down comforter. The label on the comforter package clearly states:BASIC BEDDING.

The less expensive down and feather combination comforters sold on amazon have the SAME fill, so unless you want the 410 thread count cover on a feather/down combination comforter, save your money and buy the less expensive product.

I will be returning this product and searching for a 100% down comforter. We've had the real thing for years and the feather/down combination comforters just don't measure up.
